It's been a snowy night on the Coquihalla and more is expected to fall.

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for the Coquihalla Highway, from Hope to Merritt, saying that somewhere between 20 and 25 centimetres of snow will have fallen on the highway by Friday night.

"An upper trough over the B.C. Interior will send a stream of moisture across the Coquihalla highway from Hope to Merritt," Environment Canada said in the alert. "Overnight five to 10 cm of snow has fallen and a further 10 to 15 cm of snow is possible by early this evening."

Facebook groups dedicated to users reporting road conditions indicated that there were numerous delays Thursday, April 2, related to heavy snowfall.

In B.C., winter tire regulations stay in effect until April 30. You’re required to use mud and snow tires when travelling on most highways.

Road conditions are available at DriveBC.
