Coming off of a bye weekend, the Heat women's volleyball team will be looking to pick up where they left off as they will defend their home court against the University of Manitoba this weekend. The two squads will open the weekend on Friday (Nov. 11) with a game that will begin at 6 p.m. First serve of the second match between the two teams will be played Saturday (Nov. 12) with a start time of 6 p.m. Both the games will take place at the UBC Okanagan gymnasium.

With their home opener two weeks ago, UBC Okanagan began their season off with two quick wins to Brandon. With the first game going to four sets and the second game UBCO was able to win in just three sets and the Heat are (2-0) on the season and in the second place standing in the Canada West and ranked second in the country. With a weekend off the Kelowna squad is rested and ready to return to their home court for the second time this season.

With only two games played so far this season it has been senior outside hitter Megan Festival leading the way for the Heat so far. The management student has a team high 22 kills on the season, also adding 18 digs, and eight service aces. In her final year of play the Calgary product is off to a great start. Following Festival is Siobhan Fitzpatrick with 20 kills and 12 digs who has moved into more of a role this season with six players graduating from last season.

With two games under their belt, the Heat are averaging 2.86 service aces per set putting them third in the country.

Overall Head to Head vs MAN:  The Heat currently lead (10-2) against University of Manitoba, and swept the Bisons in last years match up in Winnipeg.
