A head-on collision involving two SUVs on Highway 97 in the Cariboo this morning has left one person dead and another seriously injured.
RCMP say the crash happened at around 9:40 a.m. today, Feb. 2, on Highway 97 at French Road south of Quesnel.
The driver of a northbound SUV towing a trailer lost control when the trailer began to fishtail, according to an RCMP media release. It crossed the centre line and hit a southbound SUV head on.
The driver and only person in the northbound SUV was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the other vehicle was seriously hurt and airlifted to hospital.
RCMP have not released the identity of the person killed.
