The driver of the Ford, a 73-year-old woman from Beaverdell, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, a 21-year-old Beaverdell man, was taken to Kelowna General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Mazda, a 35-year-old woman, and her passenger, an 8-year-old girl, were both treated at Kelowna General for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Highway 33 was closed in both directions for several hours as the RCMP collision reconstructionist completed a detailed analysis of the crash.
