Fans of Breaking Bad will have a chance to walk into Walter and Jesse’s underworld at the Kelowna Fan Experience next month.

The main characters’ hazmat suits and a dime bag of their signature blue meth are among props from the hit AMC TV show that will be part of the Kelowna Fan Experience. The exhibit will also recreate a drug lab, prison cell and restaurant that were used as settings in Breaking Bad.

“We want to give a whole new experience and make people feel as though they’re actually part of the show,” Empire Movie Props owner Richard Johns said.

“We build the sets to look as real as possible. When people take photos or videos of themselves it looks like they’re actually there in the show.”

Johns has been a collector for 25 years.

He gets some props from friends who work in film production and he finds some items at auctions. He has also has built a strong network of people to trade with.

“Sometimes when I’m watching a TV show or a movie at home, I’ll go, ‘Hey wait a second that prop I have right here.’ It’s really interesting when that happens.”

The Kelowna Fan Experience runs from July 15 to 17 at various locations in downtown Kelowna. The Breaking Bad exhibit will be at the Delta Grand hotel all three days.
