KAMLOOPS - The snow gods have been kind to ski hills around the province so far this year, and Harper Mountain is no exception.
Early snow up at the local ski hill means Harper Mountain is opening a whole week earlier than originally hoped for.
Last week the family ski hill posted pictures of fresh snow to Facebook and noted an early opening could happen. Today it was officially announced some lifts would open Saturday, Dec. 5, and then will open to full operations on Dec. 12 as originally planned.
On Saturday only the T-bar will run while the T-bar and chair lift will both run Sunday. Next weekend all ski lifts and the tube park will open.
Big White Ski Resort near Kelowna had the earliest opening of area ski hills this year, two weeks ahead of schedule in mid-November, while Sun Peaks Resort opened a day ahead of schedule on Nov. 20.
