PENTICTON  - A man well known to Penticton RCMP faces a new court date following his arrest in which a stolen handgun was seized.

The detachment’s Targeted Enforcement Unit arrested 26-year-old Seamus Kirby on Friday, March 2, following a raid on a local motel room in which Kirby was served a search warrant.

Police found a nine millimetre handgun along with ammunition and other items, police spokesperson Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said in a press release issued today, March 6.

The gun had been reported stolen in a residential break and enter in February.

Kirby, who recently served an 18-month sentence for firearms offences, is set to appear in court on March 7.
