Halloween events for a terror-ific time in Penticton

There's lots to get scared about with Halloween events taking place between now and Oct. 31 in Penticton and the South Okanagan.

PENTICTON - If Halloween is your thing; you’re in luck this weekend through Wednesday as there is a long list of Halloween events scheduled in Penticton and the South Okanagan.

Get scared from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 through Sunday, Oct. 28 at Princess Margaret Secondary School third annual Haunted House. This year’s theme is “The conjuring/insidious universe.” Cost is $3 for kids, $5 students and $8 for adults.

The Friday night live Halloween Concert gets underway at 6:30 p.m. today, Oct. 26, at the Summerland Arts and Culture Centre. Enjoy music with a Halloween theme, featuring the Tracy Fehr Vocal Studio. Cost is $10 at the door. Wine will be available, and Halloween costumes are encouraged.

The Kettle Valley Terror Train operates Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 27 and Oct. 28 with trains running at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Put on your best costume and enjoy a terrifying ride on the KVR. Adult tickets are $38, seniors 65 and older $26, youth $23 and children ages 3 to 12 are $19.

The Penti-con Zombie Walk gets underway at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28 starting at the Penticton courthouse. Get gory and slowly meander up and down Main Street. Bring a donation for Monday night dinners at Nanaimo Square in the form of warm clothing or gift cards for meals for the homeless.

The 2018 Oliver Scareview takes place Saturday, Oct. 27, hosted by Oliver Parks and Recreation. Cost is $5 at the Recreation Centre in Oliver. The event takes place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Oliver Theatre presents a screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show on Sunday, Oct. 28. Participants are invited to dress the part and bring your props. Show starts at 9 p.m. and tickets are $12.

The annual Halloween Dance Party hosted by Orchard House, Yard Katz and the South Okanagan Similkameen Volunteer Centre happens Saturday, Oct. 27 staring at 8 p.m. Cost is $20.

Halloween events are also planned at the Mile Zero Wine Bar, with a Mile Zero Halloween Party from 8 p.m. until midnight on Saturday, Oct. 27.

The Naramata Pub & Grill hosts a Halloween costume party with the Roland Allen Rock Band on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.

The Barley Mill is hosting its Scary-oke Halloween Bash on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m.

The Penticton Lakeside Resort hosts the Haunting at the Lakeside at the Barking Parrot Bar, Saturday, Oct. 27. The costume party has a good and evil theme and has a $10 cover charge.
