Kamloops RCMP are seeking witnesses and video footage after gunshots were fired at a home in the Dallas neighbourhood yesterday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the 5700 block of Todd Hill Crescent at around 8:15 a.m. yesterday, Jan. 30, according to an RCMP news release.
Upon their arrival, they found gunshot damage to a residence along with a bullet.
It's believed that shots were fired earlier that morning around 3:50 a.m. when two loud bangs were heard.
“Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident, but the potential risk presented to those inside the residence and in the area was extremely high and is being taken very seriously,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.
The Police Dog Services Unit, Forensic Identification Services Unit, and the General Investigation Support Team were all at the scene yesterday to assist with the investigation.
“As the investigation continues, we are asking the public to please check their video security or dash camera systems to see if they captured any vehicle or presence that could be related to this incident,” Cpl. Evelyn said. “If anyone witnessed or heard anything around the time the loud bangs were heard and has not yet contacted police, please reach out as soon as possible.”
Anyone with relevant information that has not yet been communicated to the police is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-2974.
