KAMLOOPS – Kamloops Blazers defenseman Sam Grist is on his way to Penticton, BC to join the San Jose Sharks rookie squad at the Young Stars Tournament being held in Penticton, BC.
The 20-year-old, who stands at 6’5” and 228lbs, suited up for 61 games with the Blazers last season posting five goals, and 21 points. He was acquired from the Tri-City Americans in early October.
Grist, who is from North Saanich, BC, will join the Sharks in time for their game today at 4:00pm against the Winnipeg Jets. The Sharks play a final game in the tournament on Sunday, September 8th against Calgary.
The tournament started yesterday as the Calgary Flames defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 and the Vancouver Canucks beat the San Jose Sharks 3-2.
