TORONTO - Gamers waited in line in Toronto for hours Monday night to get their hands on Grand Theft Auto V (5).
The latest instalment from the much-anticipated billion dollar video game franchise went on sale at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday.
The Toronto Best Buy store at Bay and Dundas celebrated the release with a launch party.
Fans lined up outside the store were treated to prize giveaways and a day-in-the-life of a GTA V character that included a police sketch booth and airbrush tattoo parlour.
First in line, 26-year-old software developer Aubrey Cottle, said he'd be taking the day off work on Tuesday to play the video game.
Grand Theft Auto V features a combination of open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer features.
Best Buy employees said the Dundas Street store sold over 200 games in their presale.
