Grand Forks woman killed in collision on Highway 3 in Boundary region

A 62-year-old woman from Grand Forks was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 3 in the Boundary region on Sunday.

In the early evening, Dec. 10, there was a collision involving a Chevrolet Tracker and a Subaru Outback on Highway 3 east of Greenwood, according to a press release from BCHP.

RCMP said the driver of the Tracker lost control due to icy road conditions, and crossed over the centre line into the path of the oncoming Outback.

A 62-year-old woman from Grand Forks was a passenger in the Tracker and she died in the hospital several hours after the crash.

The Tracker’s driver was brought to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the occupants of the Outback were not seriously injured.

RCMP said the road conditions were reportedly poor but "all avenues of investigation are being considered at this early stage."

Anyone who witnessed the crash, or might have dash cam footage, is asked to contact the BC Highway Patrol in Nelson at 250-354-5180 and refer to file number 2023-6210.
