Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter Alex Cuba is playing a one-off show in Penticton next month.
Cuba, who was born Alexis Puentes in Cuba, moved to Smithers in northern B.C. in 2003. Along with the Grammy, he has won four Latin Grammys and two JUNOs.
Smithers even threw a Grammy Block Party to celebrate the Cuban-Canadian singers' success.
He’s known for his sugarcane-sweet melodies, pop-soul hooks and powerful guitar riffs, according to a media release.
He will no doubt be performing from his eighth studio album Mendó.
Cuba is part of the Route97 Culture Road Trip series, and co-creator Mark Greenhalgh said they are very grateful he will be performing.
“The work we are doing is building our region up as a viable touring option for both emerging and national-level artists with unforgettable concert experiences,” Greenhalgh said. “Having Alex as a part of it is fantastic.”
Tickets for Cuba’s Oct. 21, concert at Penticton's Cleland Community Theatre went on sale today, Sept. 26, and you buy them here.
