Police suspect drug trafficking at home connected to West Kelowna shooting

Police executed search warrants on a home in connection with a shooting incident in West Kelowna Dec. 2.

WEST KELOWNA - Police in West Kelowna are releasing more details about a shooting in Glenrosa earlier this week.

On Dec. 2, West Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of a physical altercation where a man had been shot. In a news release police say he was shot in a home in the 3600 block of Granada Crescent.

Police say they have now determined the incident was isolated and that the people involved were "well known" to each other.

The shooting victim suffered serious but not life threatening injuries and was rushed from the scene to the B.C. Ambulance station in West Kelowna. He was then taken to hospital for treatment.

A 59-year-old man and 33-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the incident. Both are from West Kelowna and are facing potential charges.

Police say the investigation has led to the execution of two warrants at the home related to the shooting. Investigators have found evidence related to the shooting investigation and uncovered evidence to suggest the home was being used in trafficking illicit drugs including suspected cocaine and GHB.
