Get ready for more snow on the Coquihalla

Another dump of snow is expected on the Coquihalla Highway tomorrow, after heavy snow fell at the summit over the weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning as a frontal system is expected to move across the Coquihalla Highway tomorrow, Nov. 28, with snowfall accumulations of 20 to 25 centimetres by Tuesday night.

Forecasters say another concern with the system is the rate of the snowfall with the passage of the cold front during the late morning or early afternoon. Intense bursts of snow could result in hourly accumulations of three to four centimetres over a short period of time.

By tomorrow afternoon the heavy snow is expected to pass, although periods of snow will continue tomorrow night. Snowfall rates and accumulations are expected to be lower at that point.

Environment Canada is reminding motorists to adjust their driving to changing road conditions. Visibility may be reduced and if so you're advised to turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
