Microsoft founder Bill Gates ups stake in Canadian National Railways to 10%

VANCOUVER - Bill Gates has increased his overall stake in Canadian National Railway Co. (TSX:CNR) to 10 per cent. Cascade Investment LLC, a company owned by the billionaire founder of tech giant Microsoft, says it has acquired an additional 35,784 shares of Canada's largest railway and now has a total of almost 37.4 million shares or just over eight per cent of the company. Gates controls an additional 1.86 per cent of CN stock through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a charitable trust.
