A central BC gangster will spend three years in prison for his role in a Williams Lake drive-by shooting.
He was one of two accused in a downtown shooting that left its intended victim uninjured, but riddled a Dodge Challenger with bullets on July 28, 2022.
Trevor Lyndon Alexis, 31, a man police say is "involved with" the Cariboo region 712 gang, was charged 11 months later.
He was sentenced this week to two years in jail for discharging a firearm with intent to wound, along with another year for possessing a firearm while prohibited, according to online court records.
Williams Lake RCMP said in a media release issued today, Jan. 12, the public helped identify Alexis, who was seen driving a Dodge Ram pickup away from the scene.
Police didn't tell the public at the time where the shooting took place, but they indicated there was a shooting when they closed off a residential street while searching a home later they day, according to CFJC.
The drive-by shooting came less than a month after the Williams Lake Stampede shooting, where two victims were shot in the stands. One was targeted and the other was a bystander.
Jordell Sellars was sentenced to nine years for the early July shooting, who was a member of 712 gang rivals, the Indian Outlawz, according to Williams Lake RCMP.
A second accused in the drive-by shooting is still before the courts.
Miranda Mabelline Rose Solomon, born in 1996, is out on bail while she also faces a charge for discharge with intent to wound, along with firearm possession without a licence, according to court records.
Unlike Alexis, she hasn't pleaded guilty. Her next court date is on Jan. 17 in Williams Lake.
