Friends of an Okanagan man killed in a tragic motorcycle crash last weekend launched a Gofundme page in hopes of raising $50,000 to help his family.

Janel Bailey is organizing the fundraising page on behalf of Mercedes Courtney, whose husband Mike was killed in a motorcycle crash on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Mike was well-known as a compassionate community member contributing to Okanagan Falls, Summerland and Penticton and is described as an "incredible husband, incredibly thoughtful and highly thought of."

MIke’s wife, Mercedes is presently recovering from surgery and was already off work. Mike has spent the last few weeks caring for her.  The Gofundme page was set up to raise money to help pay rent, bills, a truck payment and funeral costs.

The fundraising page has raised more than $14,000 since it was set up yesterday.

To contribute, see the Gofundme page.
