Fruiticana has been importing and retailing produce, spices, lentils, and many other groceries from around the world since 1994. It has grown from one store to become one of the largest grocery retailers in BC and Alberta. Their latest store – right here in Kelowna - has been providing Okanagan Valley residents with unbeatable prices on fruits, vegetables, bulk items, and groceries for just over a year and a half.

Not only do they bring fruit, vegetables, and popular lentils from all around the world to the Central Okanagan, but Fruiticana carries hundreds of spices to spice up, a delicious idea for food lovers and people who love cooking.

"There is no other store like it in the Okanagan," Kelowna store operator Arundeep Heer says. "We offer so much variety in our produce and grocery selection."

A customer excited to count the different spices in Aisle 6 lost count around 231 - the popular brand ‘Indican’ lead the list. Lentils and beans of many types (including organic) are available in the Bulk section as well in packages. If you still need to add more taste to your dish, then walking down Aisle 5 may surprise you with many shelves of different pickles. Moreover, if you need different types of utensils to use while cooking, Aisle 8 waits for you.

Fruiticana has quickly become a major shopping destination in the Okanagan for families and restaurants looking for a variety of fresh produce at low prices. Their bulk quantities make it easy to stock up at a great price, and with their weekly flyer featuring unbeatable deals, customers can always find great value. No matter where you are in the Okanagan Valley — Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton or Osoyoos — Fruiticana is the preferred destination for the weekly grocery run.

Fruiticana strongly supports local farmers and offers the freshest, locally grown ingredients possible. While some of the produce may arrive from California, you'll also find other hard-to-find items from all around the world.

"The customer response has been fantastic," Heer’s business partner Amandeep adds. "I feel glad we are here when people come to us and find exactly what they are looking for. We even carry many items not easily found for your favourite recipe, such as jackfruit, Australian lentils, fresh turmeric root, Indian gooseberries, guava, fresh curry leaves, lychees, and sugar cane.”

Fruiticana is more than just a grocery store. It represents a true family business model. When Heer faced unexpected road closures during the month of the store's opening, Tony Singh, the founder of Fruiticana, went above and beyond to ensure that the shelves were stocked with fresh produce. He had shipments of fresh produce flown in to help Heer’s store make a solid start during this time.

This level of commitment and support is just one example of the values that the Fruiticana company embodies. It's clear that they strive to create a sense of community and foster genuine connections with their customers.
