Friday night skiing deals are back at Big White Ski Resort.
This ski season has seen a slight increase in the classic Friday night deal, which began on Jan. 10, from $10 to $12.
It’s just the cost of doing business,” said senior vice president Michael Ballingall.
“We want to try to keep people who can afford to ski and snowboard at the price,” he said. “We raised it from $10 to $12 because the wage grid has gone up, the cost to purchase fuel and everything has gone up.”
The Plaza Lift, Bullet Chair and TELUS Park, Big White's world class terrain park, are all open Friday night from 3:30 to 7:45 p.m. (weather permitting), according to Big White’s website.
Friday night deals include: $12 lift tickets, $12 ski and snowboard rentals, $12 tubing and $12 beginner lessons for first timers.
Friday's opening night had more than 900 people, which is not a high number for opening night, but snowy road conditions were a factor, Ballingall said.
