Residents living in communities along Westside Road can learn the secrets behind clean, efficient, smokeless wood heating.

If you have a wood burning appliance find out how to burn safer, cleaner and more efficiently at a special, FREE Wood Heating Workshop.

It starts at 6:00 pm, Thursday, Oct. 15 in the Killiney Beach Community Hall, 514 Udell Road.

Get your questions answered and learn about proper wood heating and burning techniques, purchasing and preparing your wood, tips on loading the firebox and chimney care, what EPA and Emission ratings mean and how to plan an effective wood heating system.

We’ll also have information available about how residents can save money and utilize rebates by updating their wood burning appliance through the Wood Stove Exchange program.

Everyone who pre-registers will receive a free gift.

For more information about this evening event and to reserve your free space and gift, email airquality@kelowna.ca or contact Regional Air Quality Program Coordinator Nancy Mora Castro at 250-469-8408.

This free event is part of the ‘Wood Stove Exchange’ program through a grant from the Province of B.C. and B.C. Lung Association.
