Free Public Wi-Fi at JBMAC

Parents are now able to enjoy free public Wi-Fi at Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre while watching their kids swim. This Wi-Fi has been made available as a free service, on a trial basis, in response to numerous public enquiries. Fitness enthusiasts are also able to use this resource, as a signal will also be available in the workout area.

An existing Internet feed is utilized with this service, in order to keep costs low. Users are required enter an e-mail address and agree to terms of use. Information passing through the wireless access is not secured and it is the user’s responsibility to protect their information.

Wireless access will be provided on an “as is” basis with no guarantee and no warranty. The District of West Kelowna assumes no responsibility for the safety of equipment and does not provide electrical outlets in the viewing area. This trial period will continue until December 2014, when the program will be reviewed by Council and a long term decision will be made.

E-mail addresses are collected and stored for a period of three months, then removed from all records. By providing this service, the District hopes to enhance overall public enjoyment at the pool and surrounding areas.

Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre offers a large pool, hot tub/steam room, wheelchair accessible change rooms, fitness centre, and recreational programs. For questions or comments regarding this facility, or to report a maintenance issue, please call 250-768-4442 or e-mail info@jbmac.ca.
