PENTICTON - With a weather forecast that’s calling for sunny skies and warm temperatures, it’s going to be a great weekend to get the fishing poles out and head for your favourite fishing hole.

The 19th annual B.C. Family Fishing weekend goes today, June 15, to Sunday, June 17.

The weekend, which coincides with Father’s Day, is intended to provide an opportunity for families to enjoy the outdoors and learn about the sport of fishing, according to the province.

Canadian residents will be allowed to fish without a B.C. angler’s license for the entire weekend, although certain rules do apply. See the Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis for details.

For details on community fishing events in your area, check out the B.C. Family Fishing website.
