Canada's Julien Viel claims World Cup bronze in dual moguls

BEIDAHU SHEQU, China - Canada's Julien Viel captured bronze in dual moguls at a World Cup stop in Beidahu, China, on Saturday.

The 23-year-old freestyle skier from Mont-Saint-Anne, Que., was third behind Finland's Severi Vierela and runner-up Ikuma Horishima of Japan.

Mikael Kingsbury of Deux-Montagnes, Que., finished off the podium in eighth spot after winning silver in moguls on Friday for his ninth World Cup podium of the season.

Saskatoon's Maia Schwinghammer was the top Canadian in the women's field, placing 11th.

Jaelin Kauf of the U.S. took gold ahead of France's Perrine Laffont and American Tess Johnson, who finished third.

Canadians are set to compete in aerials on Sunday.
