KELOWNA - Four people have been forced from their home following a late-night fire.

Shortly after 9 p.m. yesterday, Sept. 24, the Kelowna Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the 500 block of Keithley Road.

"First arriving officer reported black smoke showing from the main floor of a single-family residence," said platoon captain Scott Clarke, in a press release. "Crews quickly extinguished the fire and limited damage to a bedroom and hallway of the residence."

There were four occupants at the time of the fire. All escaped without injury. All residents were displaced by the fire and have arranged alternate accommodations.

The fire is not deemed suspicious.
