KELOWNA - Kelowna RCMP are looking into a rash of car thefts in Quail Ridge last week.
Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey said police received four reports of car thefts in Quail Ridge from Feb. 21 to Feb. 26. While all the vehicles were eventually found, police are still looking for leads on the culprits.
On Feb. 21, police responded to a call of multiple thefts from cars parked in an underground garage on Country Club Drive. A Ford XL was stolen from the garage and police recovered it on March 1.
Police responded to a report of a stolen Ford F-150 pickup truck from an underground garage on County Club Drive on Feb. 24. Officers found the vehicle on Feb. 26.
On Feb. 25, someone stole a Honda Civic which had been parked along Country Club Drive. The car was found abandoned on Feb. 27 close to where it was stolen.
RCMP officers received a report on Feb. 26 that an older model Dodge Ram had been stolen from the Via Centrale area. West Kelowna RCMP found it in their jurisdiction the next day.
O'Donaghey said investigations into all four thefts are ongoing and the Kelowna RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Section was consulted for each case.
