The Tampa Bay Lightning will take on the Colorado Avalanche in the Stanley Cup final and former Kelowna Rockets captain Cal Foote will be competing.
The defenceman, who is the son of two-time Stanley Cup champion Adam Foote, has played in 13 playoff games with the Lightning this year, with a pair of assists and six penalty minutes.
The Rockets picked Cal in the second round of the 2013 WHL bantam draft and played 202 regular season games over three seasons. Tampa Bay selected him 14th overall in the 2017 NHL draft.

Tampa Bay forward Riley Nash played for the BCHL’s Salmon Arm Silverbacks back in the 2006-2007 season where he finished as the team’s top scorer, rookie of the year and MVP. He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers but opted not to sign and played in the NCAA for Cornell University. He then played three seasons in the AHL before finally signing with the Boston Bruins in 2016.
Nash also played for the Columbus Blue Jackets and Winnipeg Jets before he was claimed off waivers by Tampa Bay from Winnipeg in 2021.
Game one of the best-of-seven series between Tampa Bay and Colorado goes Wednesday, June 15.
