Former Kamloops Blazers among NHL alumni in charge of Team Canada at Spengler Cup

Former NHLers who played for the Kamloops Blazers will be managing and coaching Canada’s National Men’s Team at the 2022 Spengler Cup in Switzerland.

Former Kamloops Blazer Shane Doan will be serving as general manager. Former Salmon Arm Silverback Andrew Ebbett form Vernon will serve alongside fellow NHL alumni Ray Whitney and Daniel Brière as members of the management group.

Coaching the team will be former Vancouver Canucks head coach Travis Green. One of the assistant coaches is another former Blazer, Scott Niedermayer, whose son Josh plays for the Penticton Vees. The other assistant coaches are Ben Cooper and Josh Holden.

The tournament begins on Boxing Day, Dec. 26 and concludes on Dec. 31.
