Fog advisory continues for South Okanagan, Princeton

Fog hanging over Summerland, Jan. 22, 2022.

Environment Canada is warning drivers about reduced visibility in the South Okanagan this morning.

The areas affected are near Princeton and the South Okanagan, including Osoyoos and Penticton while other advisories in the Interior have been lifted, according to a weather statement.

"Fog and low cloud have developed through the Interior valleys as a ridge of high pressure builds over the province. Fog patches are expected to lift with visibility improving by noon," according to Environment Canada.

"Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero."

If visibility is reduced while driving, drivers are asked to turn on lights and maintain a safe following distance.

To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
