New, ultra-low cost flights will start between Ottawa and Kelowna in August on Flair Air.
Some seats will sell for as little as $59 one way between the two cities, including one scheduled for Oct. 23.
Flair Air announced the new flights today, June 11, in a media release. It will use Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes to connect Ottawa with eight Canadian cities, with some flights, including Vancouver, staring this month.
Flights to Abbotsford and Kelowna from Ottawa won’t start until August.
“By August, we will have two aircraft based in Ottawa and provide non-stop, low fares to eight cities while creating more than 70 jobs in the community,” Garth Lund, chief commercial officer for Flair said in the release.
Flair Air started passenger service yesterday with the first of the 13 Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes it’s adding to its fleet this year. It plans to serve 19 Canadian cities when it’s fully up and running.
