Five things to do in Penticton this weekend

From fundraisers, to fitness to fishing, there is no shortage of things to do in Penticton this weekend.

Ellis is on the Rise goes tonight, May 24.

Kick off the summer season in downtown Penticton this evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Live entertainment, food vendors, merchants, games and activities including a bouncy castle, jousting and climbing mountain will keep everyone entertained. The beer garden is open from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Join another exciting Spring Fling at the South Okanagan Events Centre filled with fun, laughter and good times until Sunday, May 26. All your favourite carnival rides like the bumper cars, ferris wheel, zipper, sizzler and many more. Kids can enjoy the construction zone, train, barrel of monkeys and the berries. FlyBC's Spring Fish-in will be held at BanBurry Green RV Park in Kaleden on Skaha Lake Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26. The venue change is due to the event's popular demand.

The Penticton Speedway Bull-A-Rama will have your jaw dropping Sunday, May 26 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Presented by Penticton Toyota, bull riders from all over North America will compete. This is a Bull Riders Canada Inc. sanctioned event, featuring the best up-and-coming riders, and rankest bulls in the country.

There will be a full concession with homemade burgers, hand-cut fries, poutine and more. Tickets can be purchased at the gate: $25 adults, $20 youth and senior, kids 10 & under are free.

The 15th annual Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History gets underway in Penticton at the Okanagan Lake Park Sunday, May 26.

This important fundraiser with offer fun for the whole family including a rock climbing wall, face painting, carnival games, photobooth, live music and raffle table with amazing prizes.
