5 things to do in Kamloops this weekend

KAMLOOPS — Looking for things to do for the first weekend of May in Kamloops?

Here are five events to check out this weekend throughout the city:

This Saturday, May 4, head over to the Aberdeen Neighbourhood Association Garage Sale taking place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. So far there are currently more than 80 homes registered to participate. For more information go here.

Pogue Mahones Pub located in Brocklehurst has weekly karaoke nights on Fridays and live music on Saturdays. For more information go here.

If you've ever considered trying lawn bowling, head to McArthur Island Park on Saturday, May 4, for an open house. The free session will take place between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and participants will be given instructions and equipment. There will also be hot dogs and beverages available. On Friday night, May 3, Cactus Jack's Nightclub will be hosting a special night which will feature a lineup of local rap and hiphop artists. Some of the performers include Donny Lambo, Hanz, The Kwote, Richy Kwan and more. Head to Cactus Jack's School Year Rap-Up on Friday night starting at 8 p.m. To purchase $5 tickets go here.

This weekend is your last chance to check out The Fibre Art Network exhibit on Saturday, May 4 in the Kamoops Arts Council Main Gallery and Hallway. Head to the Old Courthouse Cultural Centre before 4 p.m. on Saturday to check out the exhibit promoting fibre as an art form and its artists. Go here for more information.
