PENTICTON - High profile Pentictonites — and anyone else, for that matter — beware.

You could be 'arrested' when the Downtown Penticton Association stages its first annual Penticton Jail n’ Bail on June 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Colleen Wright of the Canadian Cancer Society and Downtown Penticton Association Executive Director Kerri Milton spoke to Penticton City Council at a recent council meeting to provide details of a new fundraising event for pediatric cancer patients.

Fifty per cent of the proceeds will also go to assist Myla, a local six year old battling a rare form of cancer.

Residents can have their boss, favourite co-worker or friend 'arrested' by the Penticton RCMP. They will be picked up with as much or as little publicity as desired and taken to a jail located at the corner of Main and Front Street. The required bail must be paid before the arrestee is released.

The downtown Jail n’ Bail cell block will contain luxury comforts from Guerard’s Furniture and refreshments from the downtown Starbucks.

Food vendors will be on site and there will be live entertainment all day long.
