A two-hectare grass fire in Kamloops is now under control.

Robb Schoular, assistant chief of operations with Kamloops Fire Rescue, says the original call about the grass fire at 1260 Salish Rd. came in at about 1:30 p.m. today, March 17.

"The crews are still on scene but they're knocking down any hotspots,” Schoular says. “We had crews from Station One and Three with a bush truck as well.”

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined and there were no structures at risk.
