Kaleden firefighters were called to a residential fire this morning.
The department responded to 108 Cottonwood Avenue around 10:40 this morning, Feb. 16.
Firefighters arrived to find a gas line spewing flames near the residence. Fortunately, the fire was burning away from a nearby exterior wall and firefighters were able to hose the flames down until gas crews could arrive on scene.
Firefighters faced difficult conditions with slippery, snow-covered streets and cold temperatures, as well as difficult access to the fire.
Okanagan Falls volunteer fire department was also called to the blaze.
