Fire officials wrap up investigation into cause of Vernon condo fire

Residents don't know how long it will be until they can return.

VERNON - Those forced out of their homes by a violent fire in Vernon earlier this week won’t find out exactly how the blaze started.

Vernon Fire Rescue Services has completed its investigation of the Arbor Lee condo fire and ruled the cause undetermined, according to a release from the City.

Investigators say the fire is not suspicious in nature.

The fire broke out Monday evening, forcing the evacuation of about 30 people. Of 14 units in the complex, eight are considered heavily damaged.

Residents are not expected to return to the building for several months, leaving many anxious about where they will stay in the short term.

Residents were offered support from Emergency Social Services, however that only provides lodging for three nights.
