WEST KELOWNA – A fire at a West Kelowna home last night has been deemed suspicious by authorities.
West Kelowna Fire Rescue crews were called to a fire on the 2500 block of Colleen Road around 8:30 p.m., July 8, according to a press release. When they arrived they found the fire had already burned through an exterior wall and spread into the attic. Crews were able to stop the fire in the attic.
Fire damage to the home is limited to the exterior and attic while there is some water damage inside the home.
An investigation into the fire is ongoing. The cause is unknown, but it’s considered suspicious. West Kelowna RCMP are now leading the investigation.
The fire required 17 firefighters to knock it down, and additional crews had to be called in to cover any other calls during the fire.
