KELOWNA – After evacuating some West Kelowna residents from their homes Sunday, RCMP say their standoff with a resident of Pritchard Drive ended peacefully.
A media release from Kelowna RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says an unnamed individual was apprehended sometime Sunday, Nov. 5. The media release does not say why they were called to the home, what the gender of the suspect is, or what time the incident took place.
The release does say some nearby residents were evacuated.
“We extend our gratitude, especially to those residents evacuated from their homes or asked to remain inside, for their patience and understanding during what was a very dynamic situation,” he says.
O’Donaghey says RCMP begun removing resources from the area, and anticipate all residents will be allowed to return to their homes very soon.
“The public can expect to see some police officers remain at the scene for processing,” he says.
The release also does not say if the suspect or suspects were arrested, if anyone was injured or if any property was damaged.
