Fentanyl, crystal meth and cocaine found when Kamloops driver pulled over

RCMP

A Kamloops area man was arrested this week after RCMP pulled him over and found fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine and cocaine in his vehicle.

An officer with the Crime Reduction Unit, Kamloops RCMP, was travelling a frontage road near the Trans-Canada Highway East at around 9 p.m. Jan. 25 when they saw a woman try to get out of the man's moving vehicle, Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said in a press release.

"The vehicle was immediately stopped by police and when the driver exited the vehicle, the officer saw a container with what appeared to be illegal drugs sticking out of the man’s pocket," Shelkie said.

"The man was arrested and incidental to a search, a knife was found on his person."

When the officer went to the vehicle, he found bear spray in plain sight. A search of the vehicle allegedly yielded drug paraphernalia, a stolen laptop and approximately 303 grams of illicit drugs believed to be fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine and cocaine.

All investigational material has been forwarded to the Federal Prosecution Service who will determine if or what charges will be laid. The drugs have been sent for analysis.
