KELOWNA – Kelowna’s Perogy King may be gone but his customers haven’t forgotten.
Cecil Warwaruk of Cecil’s Perogies was just 62 when he died of natural causes on Oct. 10.
To honour his memory and support his family, customers are having a feast at the restaurant today, Oct. 24, to remind residents Cecil’s Perogies is still open for business.
A Facebook post has been making the rounds about the planned feast at the Richter Street restaurant that has been providing authentic Ukrainian food to Kelowna for decades.
“Cecil’s lunch Monday at noon,” it says. “Need to support the family now that old Cecil passed on. Support local. Let's do lunch.”
