Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Burris earns second straight weekly CFL honour

TORONTO - Another week, another CFL offensive player of the week award for Henry Burris.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback secured the honour for a second straight week after throwing four TD passes to rally his team to a 35-34 road win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Burris becomes the first player to win consecutive weekly awards since Winnipeg slotback Milt Stegall in 2006.

Burris completed 29-of-40 passes for 356 yards and became the first quarterback to throw four TDs in consecutive games since 2005. Burris has thrown four touchdown passes in three of his last four starts.

Edmonton linebacker J.C. Sherritt was named the top defensive player for the second time this season. He had a game-high 10 tackles in a 23-22 road loss to Winnipeg.

Safety Daryl Townsend of the Montreal Alouettes captured special-teams honours after recording a game-high four special-teams tackles in a 23-20 loss to the Toronto Argonauts.

B.C. Lions tailback Andrew Harris received a second top Canadian award. The Winnipeg native ran for game-high 55 yards on nine carries and caught two TD passes in a 34-8 road win over the Calgary Stampeders.
