With the decade coming to a close, Skip the Dishes took a look back on Kamloops’s 2019 food deliveries and came up with a few of this city's favourite things.

This year, three items were the most popular in Kamloops:

Bacon Cheeseburgers were No. 1. With more than 4,500 orders, bacon cheeseburgers take the first place spot in Kamloops’s heart.

If every burger ordered was stacked on top of one another, it would reach the top of Tod Mountain nearly 1.5 times, according to calculations at Skip the Dishes.

Miso soup was No. 2. Kamloops ordered miso soup nearly 4,000 times.

With all of those orders, an order could be put in every second seat at the Sandman Centre for a Blazers game.

Third of all is beef donair. Ordered more than 1,300 times, beef donair rounds off Kamloops’s list of top three tasty delivery favourites. Pass the dip.

Kamloops’s cravings stand out from the crowd compared to the rest of Canada, with the top three national favourites being butter chicken, poutine, and dynamite rolls.

Hometown favourite restaurants are Hatsuki Sushi and Sushi Plus and Kamloops’s biggest order was a whopping $500. It included a wide assortment of rice bowls, desserts, sushi, and pizza.

While that’s certainly impressive, it’s not even close to Canada’s biggest order of the year: a $4,004 order coming out of the Greater Toronto Area.

The person who ordered the most often in Kamloops in 2019 ordered a total of 332 times — that’s an order every day from Jan. 1 until now.

Not like it’s a competition or anything, but the nation’s most frequent orderer more than doubles that, with 764 orders so far… more than two a day.
