OSOYOOS - A woman from Oliver is dead following an early morning single vehicle crash.

Today, Oct. 10 at approximately 5 a.m., RCMP were called to a single vehicle crash on Nk'Mip road north of Osoyoos, Cpl. Jason Bayda says in a release.

The individual who made the 911 call saw vehicle lights shining up from an embankment. Bayda says police discovered the vehicle, a GMC Jimmy, approximately 100 feet down the embankment

Police say the GMC Jimmy veered left off the road and then down the embankment.

The driver of the GMC Jimmy, a female, 47, from Oliver, was found dead at the scene.

The cause of this crash is still under investigation.
