KELOWNA – A person has died in a fire at a mobile home early this morning in Kelowna.

Kelowna firefighters were called to the mobile home fire in the 3500 block of McCulloch Road at around 4:50 a.m. today, Jan. 14, according to a media release.

The first crews to arrive “were met by heavy fire activity in the front of the mobile home,” Platoon Capt. Steve Wallick says in the release. “There was one fire victim fatality.”

The victim’s identity hasn’t been released.

Wallick says three firefighters were hurt when the roof of the home collapsed. They sustained non life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire isn’t considered suspicious and investigators are on the scene today.
