The Coquihalla Highway's northbound lanes are closed this morning just north of Hope following a fatal collision this morning.
Around 9:40 a.m. today, Feb. 10, B.C. Ambulance and local rescue services responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway about five kilometres north of the Highway 3 and Highway 5 split, according to an RCMP media release.
At this time there are an undetermined number of people injured and one person has died, RCMP said.
Road and weather conditions may be factors in the crash.
Traffic control personnel are on scene, as Highway 5 northbound remains closed at the junction with Highway 3.
Motorists are advised to monitor Drive BC for updates.
Anyone with information regarding this collision, or who might have dash cam video, is asked to contact Fraser Valley Traffic Services in Chilliwack at 604-702-4039.
Highway 5 northbound is closed near Hope this morning.
