KELOWNA - The Kelowna Community Theatre is hosting a comic-con style event this weekend with comic book artists, authors, voice actors from popular TV shows and international cosplay guests.

The Kelowna Fan Xpo takes place Saturday, March 19. It brings together fan culture from around the world and is a safe and fun environment which allows up and coming artists to display and share their success stories and talents.

This all-ages event runs from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and includes venues around downtown. Some of the artists will be offering photos and autographs and there will be cosplay contests and vendors selling fan items.

The event is sponsored by New Vintage Theatre, a non-profit charity based in Kelowna. Formed in 2012, the charity produces and encourages creativity in the field.

Artisans, vendors and the Star Wars Experience will be set up at Kelowna Community Theatre with Artists Alley dedicated to comic books and publishers.

The Fan Zone area will house a large number of booths for vendors, organizations and artists and there is also a Gamers Experience from 11 a.m. t0 6 p.m.

Experience gaming booths give patrons the chance to try games and experience the latest in technology innovations. Patrons will be invited to compete in large scale competitions throughout the day as well.

For a complete schedule and list of events, visit the Kelowna Fan Xpo website or Facebook page.
