A famous Californian YouTuber is in Kamloops to film his upcoming TV series.

Mark Fischbach, known as Markiplier, has a YouTube channel with more than 29 million subscribers and is best know for his video game commentary.

He is in Kamloops filming for The Edge of Sleep, a TV series based on his QCode podcast of the same name, according to Deadline. Fischbach currently lives in Los Angeles, according to IMDB, and is both starring in and producing the TV series.

The Edge of Sleep, a post post-apocalyptic mystery-thriller, follows a night watchman who finishes his shift at work to discover that everyone in the world who went to sleep the previous night has died. Together with the other survivors, he must stay away to uncover the secret of the global endemic before they also fall asleep, according to Deadline.

In a YouTube video published June 6, the 31-year-old can be seen driving around Kamloops, purchasing a large order of Tim Hortons food before sampling an ice cap, Timbits and more for a review.

“We’re in Kamloops which is this beautiful little town... nestled in these mountains,” Fischbach said in the video titled Tim Hortons vs every American Fast Food.

Overall, Fischbach said he was “whelmed” by Tim Hortons food.

“I’m not amazed… it was a decent experience,” he said in the YouTube video, which has gathered 1.6 million views as of June 8.

He did not immediately respond to an interview request.
