One year after the murder of James Cummings in Oliver, his family is making a public plea for information.
Cummings succumbed to injuries after he was shot outside a residence on Pine Ridge Road in Oliver during the early morning hours of June 12, 2022, according to a media release from the Oliver RCMP.
Officers who responded were unable to resuscitate him.
The investigation was taken over by the RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit.
To date, numerous investigative avenues have been explored and, in an effort to protect the integrity of the investigation, police are unable to share those findings publicly at this time," RCMO Staff Sgt. Jason Smart said in the release.
Anybody with information related to the investigation is asked to call the Southeast District Major Crimes Unit's information line at 1-877-987-8477.
"James’s family and loved ones continue to suffer with not knowing answers to this senseless tragedy, and are pleading with the public for anyone to come forward with any information regarding his murder," the release says.
