SALMON ARM - The family of a 45-year-old man who went missing more than a month ago are hoping a reward will prompt someone to step forward to help them find their loved one.

The family of Valentine Leo Degenhardt have teamed up with Crime Stoppers to help investigators gather information. Degenhardt was originally from Edmonton but was living in Salmon Arm when he disappeared. He was last seen in Barrhead, Alberta at about 5:30 p.m. July 17, 2013 driving his grey, 2000 Jeep Cherokee with Alberta licence plate BJS-0889. The vehicle had an enclosed ski rack on top. Degenhardt was travelling with his two dogs.

To receive the family reward that Crime Stoppers says exceeds the usual amount offered in such cases, tipsters must agree to speak directly with investigators and be willing to go to court. An anonymous option is still available through Crime Stoppers with a reward of up to $2,000.

To report information about the disappearance of Valentine Leo Degenhardt call RCMP Morinville at 780-939-4550 to speak to an investigator directly and be eligible for a reward offered by his family; or  remain anonymous by calling Crime stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) to report any information anonymously.
