The cousin of a missing Kelowna woman who wasn't been found for a week says she is feeling “frustrated” that there’s been no sign of her, despite extensive searches.

Chelsea Cardno was last seen leaving her home on Dougall Road South in Kelowna at around 8 a.m., June 14. She was heading to the park to walk her German shepherd named JJ and her white BMW was found parked at the north end of Pasadena Road.

A search was held Saturday, June 18 with upwards of 150 volunteers, the RCMP, and Central Okanagan Search and Rescue. It yielded no results.

“Having no signs of her or JJ still at this time is, I think it’s gotten extremely frustrating,” Tanya Rudolph said.

The Kelowna RCMP has not provided her with any new updates but the investigation is open. The Central Okanagan Search and Rescue team is hoping to assemble a swift water team once Mission Creek’s waters lower, pending for this upcoming Saturday, June 25.

A search was called off Sunday due to high and dangerous waters. There were more than 150 volunteers who registered at the sign-in table family and friends set up Saturday to assist with the search.

Rudolph said she is grateful and overwhelmed for the community support.

The Kelowna RCMP describes Cardno as a 31-year-old female, four-foot-11, weighs 108 pounds with brown hair and blonde highlights.

She was seen wearing a blue or grey cap, bright red puffy jacket, sweatpants and black lace-up style army boots.

Anyone with information is asked to call Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300. To remain completely anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip online.
